More than 20 per cent of the Canadian population was born abroad. 25 to 44 is the most common age at which immigrants arrived: • Children and youth (under 15): 27% • Young adults (15 to 24): 23% • Adults (25 to 44): 41% • Older adults (45+): 9% In 2011, about 6,042,200 foreign-born people in Canada were eligible to acquire citizenship.
