The exponential growth in technological capabilities, shifting demographics, increasing demand from the population for citizen-centric service deliv- ery, and potential long-term fiscal restraints are all forcing organizations to change how they work and improve their performance. Many governments and their related entities recognize this need and are working through transformational activities to develop more adaptable, efficient and effective organizations that meet the needs of their citizens. How- ever, with transformation initiatives still stuck with success rates below 30 percent, there are many risks associated with large scale, complex change. Luckily, there is a key role within organizations that can not only improve the odds of success in transformations but can also help lead transfor- mational change on the front lines: business ana- lysts have the capabilities needed to ensure that transformations realize their objectives.
