Michael retired in 2019 after a 38-year career as one of the key leaders of Canada’s world-class Federal public service, culminating in his appointment in 2016 as the 23rd Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to Cabinet. He is currently working with MNP as a Strategic Advisor Associate on their Ottawa Federal Government Consulting team and is a Fellow at Carleton University’s School of Public Policy and Administration.

Dr. Doug Norris
Chief Demographer and Senior Vice President, Environics Analytics
One of Canada’s leading experts on the Census, Dr. Doug Norris, is an SVP and the Chief Demographer at Environics Analytics. He joined EA in 2006 after nearly 30 years with Statistics Canada, where he earned the nickname of “Mr. Census” in his role as Director General of Social and Demographic Statistics. Currently, he assists companies, government agencies and not-for-profit organizations in using census and other statistical information for planning and marketing projects. He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from McGill University and a Ph.D. in biostatistics and demography from Johns Hopkins University.

Brad Graham is Vice President, Toronto, at the Institute on Governance (IOG) and a Senior Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. Brad’s recent focus includes trust in government, municipal government, and distributive governance. Brad Graham spent 25 years in the Ontario Public Service in a variety of senior leadership positions, including as Assistant Deputy Minister in the Ministries of Health, Municipal Affairs and Housing, Infrastructure, and Research and Innovation. Brad was awarded Ontario’s Amethyst Award for excellence in public service as well as several awards for his work from external organizations. His areas of expertise include public sector governance, public policy, economics, health, finance, and urban planning. He holds a BA Economics from Dalhousie University.
Dr. Amanda Clarke Associate Professor, Carleton University
Professor Amanda Clarke’s research examines public administration reform, public service delivery and the relationship between state and non-state actors, focusing in particular on the impact of digital technologies in these domains. She is author of Opening the Government of Canada: The Federal Bureaucracy in the Digital Age and a research fellow with the Canada School of Public Service. In 2021 she was awarded a Government of Ontario Early Researcher Award, and included in Apolitical‘s list of the Top 100 Most Influential Academics in Government.
