Canadian Government Executive Media (CGE) announced today that Patrice Dutil has been selected as editor CGE. Dutil is a professor and former chair in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University in Toronto. He brings with him experience from his work as a policy advisor, a non-profit executive and a television producer as well as the founder and first editor of The Literary Review of Canada.
“We are elated to have Patrice working with our team. It’s a big win for us to have such an accomplished veteran with the vast array of skills that Patrice brings to the table,” said John R. Jones, group publisher of Canadian Government Executive Media. “CGE has been serving the public sector community for over 20 years and is highly regarded by its readership. It takes strong editorial leadership, vision as well as a strong understanding of modern media tools and capabilities to successfully manage the reigns of this product and we feel that we’re in good hands with Patrice.”
Dutil will be replacing out-going editor of CGE Toby Fyfe, effective May 1st. The magazine just celebrated its 20th anniversary this January.
“Patrice is joining a long history of notable editors, guest editors, contributors who have graced CGE’s pages over the last 20 years. We are thankful for all the contributions and guidance that we have had over this time and credit it with the market leadership CGE enjoys today,” continued Jones. “Now the mantle has been passed to Patrice. He is not just an academic, he’s not just a former government executive, or entrepreneur or accomplished author and television producer. He is all of the above, which is a dynamic leadership recipe for CGE.”
CGE has witnessed significant changes within the last five years and now it’s poised to move to the next stage in its content leadership commitment. The magazine’s mission, however, remains the same; to contribute to leadership excellence through high quality content that serves both the seasoned veteran of the public service, as well as the young professionals that are transforming the industry.
