For over two days at the end of January this year, over 20 speakers from government and industry shared the platform at TechGov 2018 to talk about Digital Transformation, Open Government, Citizen Engagement, Innovation for Results, Service Delivery and Technology and Change Management.
TechGov is an event produced by Canadian Government Executive with the mandate to contribute to excellence in public sector management.
Built on the theme of Technology and Government in supporting service delivery, people and innovation, TechGov provided the opportunity for public service executives to learn, engage and dialogue about the challenges and solutions of digital transformation.
“We need to move from 150 departments delivering services to one GC delivering services to all Canadians,” said Marc Brouillard, CTO, The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat in setting the stage for the event.
Michael Wernick, Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary of the Cabinet during his keynote talked about how government needs to listen to Canadians so as to help them with the services they need.
On the second day, Minister Scott Brison summed it up nicely by saying, “We need to design services based on citizens.”
