Last year, on average, every human being created at least 1.7 MB of data per second, which works out to 2.5 quintillion data bytes daily (that is 2.5 followed by 17 zeros). That’s quite a lot of data.

We know that data is being used in many areas to help improve processes and operations and practically every aspect of our lives. So, can data be used to help us with our work? More specifically, how do we use data to build better teams, opportunities and meet departmental objectives? What about equity and inclusion goals?

How can we leverage digital capabilities to achieve equity and inclusion goals?

The Clerk of the Privy Council recently released a call to action on this. So, how can government recruit, appoint, and support Indigenous, Black, and other racialized employees using data? What sort of role should data play in this process?
